Glenn E. Steed Jr. Memorial Scholarship – Glenn E. Steed, Jr. was born on June 2, 1966.  He attended public grade schools in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in May of 1984. He was an avid basketball player at Joliet Catholic. He subsequently pursued a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois - Chicago Circle Campus.  He was employed as a design engineer for Hendrickson International in Woodridge, Illinois for fourteen years.  In May of 2006 he married Susan Strysik.  At the time of his untimely death in March, 2009, Glenn and Susan were expecting their first child.  Olivia Glenn Steed arrived seven weeks after the death of her father. The most important things to him were family and friends. Glenn was known for his whacky sense of humor and love of classic rock and movies. He also ran several marathons, including the Chicago Marathon seven times. He spent his spare time volunteering at homeless shelters, Make a Difference Day, and helping the kids of Chicago during career days. Glenn’s life was an inspiration to others in all that he did. This scholarship was made possible by a fund raising event held in Glenn's memory. It is presented by his family with great pride as Glenn's quest to help others included promoting education.

The Quigley Scholarship Fund provides two partial scholarships annually to a boy and girl entering their sophomore, junior and senior years at JCA. Recipients must have at least one parent who is an alumna/alumnus of SFA, DLS, JCHS, or JCA.
