The purpose of Joliet Catholic
Academy's counseling
program is built on a preventative, developmental and spiritual approach. This
concept focuses on a program of services, which involves a systematic process
of assisting students in making choices, plans and and adjustments, in
understanding, self-direction, and in solving personal problems. In conjunction
with our mission statement, the concept provides an educational process that
calls, challenges and affirms every person in it to grow in faith, knowledge,
understanding and service.
The Guidance Department
provides the following services while respecting the confidentiality of each
individual student: Group guidance, personal counseling, academic guidance,
college guidance, career guidance. In addition the Guidance Departments
provides the following resources: internet accessible, study skills, college
catalogue and video library, information and referral, approving college visit
days for seniors, college application file, arranging visits by college
representatives, conference rooms.
